Frances Vest Amos, 75, of Salem, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2007.

She was born February 6, 1932, the daughter of the late Philander Vest and Alma Emerson Vest. Her husband, Elmer Ervin Amos, Sr. and son, Elmer Ervin Amos, Jr. both preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Roanoke Valley Cathedral of Praise.

Surviving are daughter, Sandra Otey and husband, Ray of Rural Hall, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Amos of Boones Mill; granddaughter, Crystal Hale and husband, Jud; granddaughter, Sherry Amos; great-grandson, Ashton Amos; sister, Lorine Gray of Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 1, 2007 at Lotz Roanoke Chapel with the Rev. Harry Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Amos Family Cemetery, Boones Mill, Va.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 29, 2007 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, September 30, 2007 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements by Lotz Funeral Home, Roanoke Chapel.
