Hammond - Margaret E Hammond was born in Illinois in 1853, being at the age
of her death 76 years, 3 months and 27 days of age.
She was united in marriage to John Baker in 1870, and to this union were
born 12 children:
Mrs. S.A Davidson, Mrs. Tom Morgan, Mrs. John Comstock, Mrs. Bert Beebe,
Mrs. Rob McTeer, Mrs. Ernest Morgan, Six Boys: Cap, George, Leonard, Albert,
Wylie and Ashel Baker; one brother Douglas Hammond also survives. She was
converted and united with the Baptist church about thirteen years ago.
She lived a devoted christian life until the time of her departure. She
leaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn her going, which occurred
Thursday, March 6, 1930.
Funeral services were held March 8. 1930, by Rev. Applegate, and burial was
in the Bakery Cemetery under direction of T.B. Chaffin of Ozark.
