Caroline M. Jones Brining was born near Paoli, Orange County, Indiana, December 25, 1833 and died at her home in Le Roy, IL, May 14, 1915. When quite young her parents moved to Spencer County, Kentucky, where they lived for a few years and then returned to Indiana. She came to Illinois, near Atlanta, Logan County, with her parents in 1859, at which place she was married to Hamilton Brining, February 4 1861, who died March 16, 1886. To this union was born eight children: Catherine who died in infancy, Charles E, L. T. of Le Roy, Owen L., of Champaign, Imo Blair of Normal, Minnie Ethel of Echo Minn, Luther of Peoria and Leslie C of Stanford. There are two brothers living: Edwin R. L. Jones of Stanford and I. Newton James of Pierce, CO.
