MRS. ESSIE LONER BOWIE PASSES AWAY SUDDENLY
Mrs. Essie Loner Bowie, resident of Greenville for the past ten years, and formerly of Williamston, died suddenly yesterday at the home, 63 Spring Street, Southern Worsted mill village.
Mrs. Bowie was 76 years of age, and in apparent good health until a few minutes before her death. She had a large family connection throughout this section.
She is survived by the following sons and daughters: Mrs. J. R. Kay, of Pelzer; Mrs. J. A. Windman, of Baltimore, Maryland; P. E. Bowie, Mrs. W. M. Morgan and Mrs. W. A. McKinney of Greenville; and B. T. Bowie of Spartanburg. The following stepchildren also survive her; Mrs. E. C. McKee of Easley, Mrs. J. A. Puckett of Greenwood, and S. A. Bowie of Ninety Six.
The body is at the home of her daughter Mrs. W. M. Morgan, 100 Markley Street.
Funeral services will be held at three o'clock this afternoon at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. W. M. Morgan, after which interment will be made in the family plot in the cemetery at Williamston.
The services will be conducted by Rev. H. E. Wright, pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Pelzer; who will be assisted by Rev. S. W. Jolly, of this city. The following grandsons will be the pallbearers: Ray Bowie, Louis Morgan, Edward Kay, James Kay, and Claud Kay.
Honorary pallbearers will be C. B. Hooker, Roy Waldrop, George Mack, G. M. Davis, John Ward and J. L. Hyde.
