Actor, Comedian. Born in Chicago, Illinois, his father was a concert violinist and he himself was an accomplished cellist. He began his career in vaudeville at the age of 14 and at one time worked in a Chicago speakeasy owned by Al Capone. He moved to Los Angeles, California where he became a writer for the likes of Fanny Brice, Jimmy Durante and Will Rogers. Appeared in motion pictures, radio and on television, gaining his widest fame with his role of "Buddy Sorrell" on the 1960s television series "The Dick Van Dyke Show." Morey had two children with his second wife, Gregory and Cathy.
