Postmaster of Crescent - 1891

Georgetown Courier, Volume XIX, Number 25, October 19, 1895
A Superstition Vindicated.

Among those taking an outing at Grand Lake the past season was a party consisting of Frank Fitch, a veterinary surgeon and his wife, of Denver, and two or three friends. During their stay a Denver photographer made a trip to the lake taking views. Among them was one of the above party in a boat. But it was not until after a good deal of coaxing that the surgeon’s wife was induced to be one of the group. She objected on the grounds that she was superstitions about grouped pictures where she was one of the number. She said she believed it meant death to one of the group with in a short time, and gave several instances in support of her belief. However she was prevailed upon to become a member of the group. Last week she called upon the photographer at Denver, and pointing at Mr. Fitch’s picture, said, “That man is dead; do you wonder that I am superstitious? ”
