Funeral services for Hazel F. Jones Mcfarlin, 87, were Wednesday, May 23, at the Powell Funeral home, North English. She died Monday, May 21, 1984, at Brookhaven nursing home, Brooklyn. The Rev. Dave Barnes, pastor of the North English Christian Church officiated. Music was provided by Mrs. Edna Gilmore, organist. Casket bearers included: Ronald Jones, Frank Jones, Jeff Goode, Jerry DeMarce, Edwin Koehn and Dr. Donald Roller. Interment was at the Bailey Cemetery, near Keswick. Hazel F. McFarlin was born March 23, 1897, near North English, the daughter of George and Lena Brown Marshall. She attended rural Gritter school, later marrying Frank E Jones in March of 1916. They lived most of their lives on a farm near Keswick, later living in North English. Following his death in 1958, she remarried Fred McFarlin in 1967. She became a resident of of the Brookhaven nursing home in April 1977. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, and the North English Christian church. Survivors include four children: Norval Jones, Rockwell City, Dale Jones, Deep River; Howard Jones, Columbia, MO; and Zelda Goode, Ankeny. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; two sons, Floyd Jones and Charles Jones, and a sister Ada Hanchett.
