Mary Johanna Norman, oldest daughter of James and Anna Norman, was born October 12, 1876, in the town of Henrietta and passed away at her home in West Lima, August 10, 1916, aged 39 years, 9 months and 28 days. She leaves to mourn her departure father, brother, Elmer J., of Woodstock, and a sister, Mrs. Ida Poorman, of West Lima, besides a host of relatives and friends.

At the age of sixteen years she began teaching school and taught for ten years when she was compelled to give up her work on account of ill health. She was converted in the Advent Christian church when sixteen years of age and was a faithful member of that church until she came to West Lima to make her home, when she united with the Christian church of that place where she will be saldy missed. Funeral services were held at the church Saturday, conducted by Rev. Austin, of Bloom City, and the body laid to rest in the Yuba cemetery beside her mother who preceded her four years ago.
