SHELDON - Mr. James Dean Bedard, age 43, died peacefully Saturday evening, June 9, 2007, of a short courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family, at his home, as he wished. Jim was born in Burlington, Feb. 18, 1964, son of Jean Paul and Lorraine (Devino) Bedard.
He was employed for the past 23 years by the Vermont Department of Corrections as a Probation and Parole Officer. He was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and was an active member of the National Rifle Association. Along with hunting and fishing, he was very active in hockey, archery, jogging, snowmobiling, wallyball, and worked passionately on his hobby farm.
He was the most wonderful husband, son, father, and brother, in the world!
Sept. 3, 1983, he married Suzanne Turner. Besides his wife Suzanne, of over 23 years, Jim is survived by his parents, Jean-Paul and Lorraine Bedard; his daughters, Shannon Bedard and fiancé, Angelo Pappano, and Paige Bedard; and grandson, Avery Pappano, all of Sheldon; brothers, sisters, and their spouses, Paul Bedard of Warren, Denise Bedard-Comstock and Everett Comstock of St. Albans, Michael and Donna Bedard of No. Hartland, Deborah Bedard-Coutu and her partner, Patrick Malone of Sheldon, Chad and Suzanne Bedard of Fairfield; his mother and father-in-law, Ernie and Margaret Turner of Milton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark Turner and his partner, Debbie Wilcox of Sheldon, Robert and Lori Winegar of Milton, Pamela Parah and partner, Andy Tobin of Georgia, Vincent and Louise St. Amour of Georgia; several nieces, nephews, and special supportive friends.
Due to the capacity of St. Anthony's, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 15, at 11 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, Lake Street, St. Albans. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., St. Albans, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 on Thursday. Interment will be in the Bedard family lot in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
