Mrs. Belot died Thursday, Aug. 13, 1998, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 19, 1912, in Richmond, Mo., the daughter of Edward McClung and Estelle (Davis) Cameron. She received a bachelor's degree in history from Kansas University in 1935 and her master's degree in Spanish from KU in 1936. She was a longtime Lawrence resident and a homemaker.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Lawrence, Chapter AZ of the PEO Sisterhood, the 20th Century Club and a 65-year member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
She married Dr. Monti L. Belot Jr. on March 1, 1940, in Lawrence. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Rosemary Jarrett, Lewisville, N.C.; two sons, Monti L.. Belot III, Wichita, and Allen C. Belot, Lawrence; a sister, Mary Cameron, Lawrence; and 10 grandchildren.
