Mrs. L.T. Caddess

Mrs. Bessie Blaylock Caddess died on July 25 at the Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital after a lingering illness. Rev. W.M. Hull assisted by Rev. Houston Inman officiated at the funeral held at the Eskridge Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27th. The burial was in Oakwood Cemetery with Oliver Funeral Home of Winona in charge.

Mrs. Caddess was born in Montgomery County on April 25, 1899 and married L.T. Caddess in 1936. Her surviving relatives are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Burney of Cleveland, two sons, James L. Collins, Winona, and Joe N. Collins in the Air Force, two step-sons, James Harvey Caddess, Bryan, Texas, and Wilson Caddess, Vaiden; two sisters, Mrs. R.H. Taylor, Duck Hill, and Mrs. A.V. Taylor, Winona; five brothers, Dewitt Blaylock, New Orleans, La., Eugene Blaylock, Holcomb, Lamar and J.T. Blaylock, Duck Hill, Leon Blaylock, Winona; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Caddess was a member of the Eskridge Baptist Church.

Active pallbearers were; Clyde Dotson, R.L. Varner, Joe Russell, Jewel Bowen, J.P. Johnson and Robert White.

NOTE: Bessie's FIRST Husband was Joe Marlow Collins. They divorced and Bessie married Leonard T. Caddess in 1936. Leonard's first wife Dora, died in 1934.
