ELLSWORTH — Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Strader, 101, Ellsworth, died Monday at the Ellsworth County Veterans Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient one week. Born Aug. 27, 1866, in Hart County, Ky., she was married to James N. Strader in Kentucky Sept. 21, 1891. He died in 1924. She came to Ellsworth ten years ago, but had lived in Lyons for 62 years. She was Ellsworth County's oldest resident.
She was a member of the Lyons AME Church.
She is survived by daughters, Mrs. Mary Tyler, St. John; Mrs. Oda Mae Kessee, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Leona M. Brown, Ellsworth; son, Harold J., Lyons; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Crawford-Miller Mortuary, Lyons; Rev. A. L. Simpson. Burial will be in Lyons emetery. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 at the mortuary (in Lyons). From 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. ednesday friends may call at the Grubb Funeral Home, Ellsworth.
