Anna K. Clemmens, age 95, of Menomonie, Wis., died Friday, August 31, 2007, at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie.

The former Anna Katherine Jensen was born July 6, 1912, in Denmark to Christian and Johanna (Basbale) Jensen. At the age of 1, she moved with her family to Minnesota. They later moved to River Falls, where Anna attended school.

Anna married Stanley E. Clemmens on October 10, 1931, in River Falls. Together they farmed in Emerald for 26 years until moving to Menomonie in 1957.

Besides raising her family, Anna was involved in 4-H and other activities her children were involved in. She was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie and belonged to the church women's group and the sewing group, where they made many quilts. She enjoyed playing cards and knitting and made many delicious donuts. Family was most important to Anna. She was the glue that held her family together, and she will be sadly missed by her loving family and friends.

Anna is survived by her husband, Stanley E. Clemmens of Menomonie; her children, Mary (Ernest) Kiekhoefer of Glenwood City, Richard (Elaine) Clemmens of New Auburn, Marlene (Brian) Hurtgen of Glenwood City, Judith (Marlin) Severson of Menomonie, Duane (Anita) Clemmens of Elk Mound and Lucinda (James) Langland of Menomonie; a son-in-law, Joseph (Ellen) Hurtgen of Woodville; 33 grandchildren; 85 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Erving Jensen of Garfield, Minn.; her sister, Doris DeYoung of Baldwin; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Marion Amundson; her infant daughter, Linda Clemmens; her daughter, Betty Hurtgen; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with Pastor David Whelan officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran/Halvorson Cemetery in Menomonie. Family and friends are welcome at the church from 11:30 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service.
