DEATH OF MRS. M. R. CHANDLER
OGDEN, Dec. 30.--Miriam Rachel Chandler, widow of George Chandler, aged 64, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Samuel J. Grix, at 2247 Monroe avenue, Wednesday afternoon at 2:25 o'clock of pneumonia. Mrs. Chandler was the daughter of Stephen Crompton, and was born at Norwich, England, Oct. 14, 1845. She joined the Mormon Church at the age of 16 and emigrated to America in 1862, coming directly to Utah. She lived at Salt Lake for a short time but has been a resident of Ogden for over 24 years, during which time she has been actively associated with Church work. All her life she has been a great friend of the sick and needy and has nursed hundreds of sick back to strenght. Deceased is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Albert E. Stratford, Mrs. Samuel J. Grix and Mrs. Joseph H. Williams, and one son, Arthur C. Chandler; also 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She leaves a large circle of friends to mourn her death. Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed, but it is more than likely the services will be held on Sunday next.
