S.D. Drake, 54-year-old resident of Borger, died yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Tierra Amarilla, N.M., following an illness of several months duration. Funeral arrangements are pending word from his sons, S.D. Drake, Jr., S 2-c, who is in the Pacific on Okinawa and Bill Drake R. 2-c, in the Pacific in the Solomon Islands.
Mr. Drake had been a resident of Borger since 1928 and was on a sick leave from the Jareckia Manufacturing Company at the time of his death. He had been employed by this company for 35 years.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and was very active in all types of sports.
The body will be returned to Borger today and will lie in state at the Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home until arrangements are completed.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ethel E. Drake, daughters, Mrs. John Spinks, Pampa and Mrs. Betty Drake Bolton, Borger, two sons, S.D. Drake, Jr., and Bill Drake and four grandchildren.

Burial will be at the Llano Cemetery in Amarillo under the direction of the Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors.
