William Roy "Bill" Green, 83, died Saturday, June 16, 2007 at the Manor Oaks Nursing Center in Rockdale. Graveside services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 12 at the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale with Margaret Clemings officiating.

Mr. Green was born Feb. 20, 1924 in Tracy to Roy Lee and Eunice (Fleming) Green.

He married Dovie Louise Pounders on Dec. 20, 1946 in Rockdale.

He was born and raised in the Tracy Community but has lived most of his life in Rockdale.

He was a veteran of World War II and Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Green worked as an engineer for Rockdale Sandow & Southern Railroad for 32 years before retiring in 1984.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Rockdale, Woodman of the World and the VFW.

Mr. Green was preceded in death by his wife, Dovie Louise Green; granddaughter, Kayla; brother, Raymond Green; parents.

Survivors include son, William Roy Green, Jr. and wife Elaine of Mt. Pleasant; daughter, Cheryl Ann Angel and husband Ricky of Lexington; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
