[Eli Blackman was born circa 1761 and died Nov 21, 1821. He married Mary Ann Curtiss and they had eight children. She was born Sep 14, 1767 in Ripton Parish and died at the age of 71 on Jul 22, 1838 in Huntington. Capt. Ephraim Curtiss was her father.
Eli Blackman served under Captain Joseph Birdsey in Col. Whiting's Regiment and marched to Fishkill in Oct 1777. He was in the Company of Light Dragoons under Captain Nichols in Major Starr's Regiment and participated in the New Haven Alarm and followed the British to Fairfield in Jul 1779.
