Emma was the oldest of ten children of William Henry and Martha Elizabeth McDonough Gamble. The communities of Glenn, Heard Co., GA, and Rock Mills and Bacon Level, Randolph Co., AL are within a few miles of each other on the Alabama - Georgia border. The family lived in several places in this area during the 1870s and 80s. At that time the border was not clearly defined. Emma married Robert Lee Bradshaw of Bacon Level on Sept 28, 1892 and lived in that community for the rest of her life. Emma and "Bob" Bradshaw were the parents of five children, including boy and girl twins who died before they could be named. Emma is buried at Bacon Level with her husband, the twins, and son Gibson.
