Mrs. Penelope Jane Abrecht, 57, of 6414 Jefferson Pike, Frederick, died Sunday, Feb. 22 at Frederick Memorial Hospital, following an illness of several weeks.
Born Nov. 10, 1945, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Martin and Faith Christine Crum Clem.

She was the wife of Richard W. Abrecht Sr., her husband of 38 years.

Mrs. Abrecht enjoyed all types of animals and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband are four daughters, Barbara J. Crummitt of Hagerstown, Deborah L. Bowers and husband Darryl W. and Angie M. Abrecht all of Frederick, and Amy K. Abrecht of Thurmont; three sons, Richard W. Abrecht Jr. and wife Sherry of Knoxville, Michael E. Abrecht and wife Mary of Woodsboro, and Patrick E. Abrecht of New Market; 19 grandchildren, Ashley Crummitt, Michael Crummitt, Gabrielle Bowers, Matthew Bowers, Joshua Bowers, Ethan Bowers, Stephanie Abrecht, Megan Abrecht, Tyler Weddle, Richard Abrecht III, Amanda Abrecht, Dakota Abrecht, Zane Abrecht, Holly Abrecht, Victoria Abrecht, Destinee Abrecht, Tyler Abrecht, Deana Abrecht and Gage Abrecht.

She was preceded in death by granddaughter, Cassie Weddle.
