Born April 15, 1928, in Peoria Heights to Harold E. and Lizetta (Holzinger) Allen Sr., he married Charlotte Witherell on June 25, 1949, in Peoria.
She survives, along with three daughters, Debra Bundy of Peoria, Cindy Allen of Peoria Heights and Becky Koga of Peoria; four sons, Tim (Teri) Allen of Lacon, Tom (Denise) Allen of Pasco, Wash., Harold J. Allen of Peoria and Steve Allen of Bartonville; one brother, William E. Allen of Haywood, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three nephews and one niece.
Harold was preceded in death by one sister, Jeanette Craven.
He was a WWII Navy veteran.
He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, VFW Post 2602, 3rd Degree Spalding Council Knights of Columbus and 4th Degree Spalding Assembly 206.
Harold worked as a locksmith at Caterpillar Tractor Company for 30 years.
Cremation rites will be accorded, with burial of the cremains in Resurrection Cemetery at a later date.
