He was born Jan. 18, 1927, to Henry I. and Agnes L. (Goerzen) Schroeder in Goessel. They preceded him in death. He married Dorothea Reimer May 10, 1949, in Goessel. She survives.
He was a painter most of his life, the owner of C & S Painting in Loveland. He served as a greeter at the popcorn machine in his bank following retirement. His earlier years were spent in the Newton area in farming, the mobile home industry and painting for Koehn Wells Construction. The family moved to Loveland in 1969, where he continued the painting profession. He was an avid gardener and woodworker, enjoyed watching and feeding birds and singing in gospel quartets, beginning in high school and continuing most of his life. He was a member of Life Spring Covenant Church in Loveland and was a welcoming person there.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Glendene Weese, Sandra Frazier of Loveland and Michelle Hepner of Denver; a brother, Delmar Schroeder of Evans, Colo.; two sisters, Geneva Sator of Evans and Vinola Banman of North Newton; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by: an infant brother, Arnold; and a sister, Mildred Berschauer.
A celebration of life service was Thursday at Life Spring Covenant Church in Loveland.
