She was BORN 10/17/1881 at Palestine, daughter of the late M/M. Wm. A. Gentry. Her husband, the late H.C. Meyer, died a number of years ago. During his lifetime in Rockdale, he was a member of the old firm of Henne & Meyer Co., which also had a hardware and implement store in New Braunfels. The firm was located in Rockdale in what is known as the Peebles Building. They were staunch civic and social leaders in Rockdale in earlier days and Mr. Meyer served in Rockdale as Mayor for several terms. Mrs. Meyer was active in civic work and town activities. Her husband was one of Central Texas greatest 'good roads' leaders and town boosters. Served several terms as member of the State Board of Control, appointed by Gov. Jim Ferguson.
SURVIVORS: 2 sons, Henry C. Meyer, Jr. of Granbury and Bruce G. Meyer of Austin; daughter, Mrs. Fenora Deputy of Austin; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
