Mary LaNell Massey Southerland, 84, passed away Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, in River Oaks.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wiley Funeral Home. Interment: Acton Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
She was born Oct. 29, 1922, in Hood County to James William Massey and Elva Josephine Johnson Massey. She married Harold Southerland, July 18, 1947, in Henrietta. She retired from Montgomery Ward Mail Order Maintenance Engineering Department.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Glynn Southerland, in 2005; brother, Z.W. Massey; and sister, Eunice Massey Sharp.
Survivors: Husband, Harold; sons, Greg and Garry Southerland; daughter-in-law, Sherry Southerland; grandchildren, Jeff Southerland, Cresha Southerland, Jake Southerland, Chad Foley, Kristine Southerland and Cody Southerland; great-granddaughters, Meagan Southerland, Haley and Huntly Barton and Heidi Davis; sisters, Orene Price and husband, Forres, Chrystelle Perry;and many nieces and nephews.
