Clement L. Nonemaker, of 308 East Walnut Avenue, Altoona, died Sunday morning, Nov. 17, 1946, at his home at 8:10 o'clock after a lengthy illness. He was a former national and state leader in the Townsend movement for which he was known widely, he also took an active part in civic, political and fraternal affairs and held various offices in the P.O.S. of A., t he A. F. and A. M., Modern Woodmen of America, the Lexington Commandery No. 2 Loyal Sons of America, Reading, Pennsylvania, USA. Mr. Nonemaker was a retired storekeeper of the Pennsylvania, USA Railroad, retiring July 31, 1937. Born October 11, 1867, at Springfield Township, Huntingdon County, he was the son of George C. and Matilda (Lamberson) Nonemaker. He was married at Saltillo, Huntingdon County, December 18, 1888, to Miss Margaret Frances (Hershey) Nonemaker. Members of the family include his wife and eight children, Aubrey G., Bessie M. Smith, Edna G., wife of Russell C. Haulman, all of Altoona, and G. Linton Nonemaker of Reading; Lula M. wife of Ellsworth M. Winters; M. Pauline, wife of G. Melvin Miller; Ethel F., wife of Orville M. Hamler, all of Altoona and C. Aulton Nonemaker deceased; These brothers and sisters, Mrs. Ida Roher, of Juniata, Mrs. J. M. Nail of Altoona, Mrs. Harry Madden of Orbisonia, and Rev. C. S. Nonemaker, Harrisburg; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
