Anthony Gulliver was born in 1619, and died in Milton, Norfolk, Massachusetts 28 November 1706, at the age of 87 years. He removed from Braintree to Unquity (the 'ancient' name for Milton) in 1646. He bought land there of Edward and Richard Hutchinson, bounded north by a creek (which he gave his name), Gulliver's Creek.

He married before 1650, Lydia Kinsley, daughter of Stephen Kinsley, and had five sons and four daughters.

6. Hannah, married Ephraim Tucker 27 September 1688, Milton
7. Mary, married Joshua Atherton 17 March 1679, Milton
8. Elizabeth, born 6 November 1671
9. Nathaniel, born 10 November 1675, married Hannah Billings 1 July 1698, Milton

Lydia Kinsley Gulliver died in 1682. He married 2nd. Eleanor (..?..) Verein, widow of John, after January 1689/90 in Milton, Norfolk, Massachusetts.

Many of the ancient houses in Milton had the second story projecting over the first, two or three feet, and the house of Anthony Gulliver was of this description. He built his house on Squantum Street, on the north side of the brook. It was taken down in the mid-1800's. The imported brick used in the chimney bore the date 1680.

The name Gulliver appears under various forms of spelling, as: Caliphar, Colliforn, Cullifer, Gullliwer, Gouliver, Gulliwer, Gullifer, and Gulliver.
