Veteran of WWI. Known to have fought in Battle of Argonne Forest 1918.

Owned store and gas station in Annetta, Kentucky and had a large farm. Some of the property was sold for the creation of Moutardier Marina at Nolin Lake, Kentucky.

Funeral was held in his home with a strong winter storm the night before burial. The family members had to dig the grave, and then carry him up a snow covered hill for the burial.

I had sent a Valentine's card to him and my mamaw, Josephine, and on his way to pick her up at my aunt's house, there was an accident where he went over the bridge right before her house and passed away. The card was in the car with him.
