Steven Allen Branch, 53, of Portland died Aug. 10 of lung cancer.
He was born in Delano, Calif., to Gerald and Ruth Branch.
He worked various labor and service jobs. He completed some college courses. He changed his name in 1995 to Trisha Ann Branch, began transgender hormone therapy and moved to Portland.
He enjoyed listening to music, playing guitar, art drawing and writing short stories.
He is survived by sisters Janet McGuire of Albany and Leresa Jones of Salem. He was preceded in death by father Gerald Branch.
A memorial service will be Sunday at Bryant Park at the covered structure near the river.
Memorial contributions can be made to the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
