Bertha White was the daughter of Lemuel and Emma Olinger White. She married Roy Charles Beal 30 June 1909.

Nevada Public Library obituary file, Nevada, Iowa, Newspaper source unknown, March 1961. "MARTHA BEAL, MAXWELL, DIED. - Mrs. Martha** Beal, 70, of Maxwell, died at a nursing home in Des Moines Thursday. She has been in ill health for about six years. Funeral services will be held from the Maxwell Presbyterian church at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Harold Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Brethren cemetery south of Maxwell. The body will lie in state at Cooper funeral home in Maxwell, until the time of the service. Mrs. Beal is survived by three sons, James of Maxwell, Robert of Boone, and Verland of Denison; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Talbert of Sunny Vale, Calif., Mrs. Blanche Buckingham of Des Moines, and Mrs. Marilyn Longnecker of Cambridge, 19 grandchildren, and four sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, and one son." **All other references use the name Bertha not Martha.
