JACKSON, Mrs. Sarah J. (A. J.) of Rockdale. Age 89. Died 7/13/1938. Services held from Salty Church, 10 miles southwest of Rockdale on Friday p.m.

She was BORN in 1849, nee Sarah Jane Thomas. She was a native of Jacksonville, FL. and came from Montgomery, AL., with her husband, A.J. Jackson, a Confederate veteran, to Milam Co. 62 yrs. ago and settled in Salty Comm. M/M. Jackson celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 1936 (married 20 Nov 1866). The following year a similar honor was shown them at the Salty church, where they had served as superintendent and Sunday school teacher, respectively, for more than 20 yrs. Mr. Jackson, age 93, preceded her in death 1/30/1938.
