Bill was the deputy chief for the Cheyenne Police Department. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, the chapter president of the FBI National Academy, a founding board member of the Coalition for Wyoming Children, a board member of Safe Harbor, past president of Laramie County Peace Officers, was an Eagle Scout, and recently received his master's degree. He died as a result of a heart attack. He is survived by his wife Dana, whom he married November 10, 1984, in Loveland, Colorado; three daughters, Amberlee, Christine, and Jenna Stanford, all of Cheyenne; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Terry Stanford, and Mary and John Flaherty, all of Thornton, Colo.; a brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Charlene Stanford of Thornton; and 22 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
