Loretta Cox, 76, was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Vinal Loraine and Anna Carter Cox on February 5, 1931. She passed away August 14, 2007 peacefully at home.
She grew up in St. George, attending elementary school, Woodward, Dixie High, Dixie College and SUU in Cedar City. She graduated with an elementary education degree with a special education certificate. She taught school at East Elementary and Sunset Elementary in St. George and taught several years in Arizona on the Navajo reservation.

Loretta did book work for several businesses and she had worked for the Dixie National Forest. She loved doing genealogy, extraction work, writing poetry and reading. She loved her children and grandchildren very much.
She married Lewis Dale Cannon; they later divorced. She married Melvin Truman Farnsworth; they later divorced.

Funeral Services were held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 17, 2007 at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 West St George Blvd. A Visitation was held from 9:30 to 10:45 AM on Friday morning at the Mortuary.
Loretta was laid to rest following the conclusion of the Funeral Services at the St. George City Cemetery in the Cox Family Plot.
