Mr. Edwin J. Amerling, 97, of St. Kilian, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 29, 2001, at Mapledale Manor in Kewaskum.
He was born Aug. 4, 1903, in the Town of Wayne, the son of the late John and Magdalena (Kudek) Amerling. And on June 14, 1938, he was united in marriage to Rosemarie Boegel at St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian. His wife preceded him in death on Oct. 18, 1989.
Edwin farmed in the Town of Wayne his entire life until 1995 when he moved to Mapledale Manor. He was a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian, Holy Name Society, a Catholic Knights member for over 75 years, and a past member of Associated Milk Producers Inc.
Survivors include two sons, John (Anne) Amerling of Allentown and Richard (Sandra) Amerling of St. Kilian; two daughters, Mary (Lawrence) Fleischman of Lomira and Patricia (Richard) Schmidt of Kewaskum; a brother, Arnold Amerling of Kewaskum; 11 grandchildren, Sharon (Stan) Schaefer, Joan (Dan) Laine, Steve (Bobbijo) Amerling, Colleen (Lee) Fink, Yvonne (Kyle) Abrahamsen, Michel (Carrie) Amerling, Gary (Stacy) Fleischman, Carey(Jeff) Eiselt, Sarah (Jeff) Harbridge, Tamara Schmidt and Samuel Schmidt; 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Kathryn Werner, Sophia Petri, Agnes Hawig and Priscilla Kozslowski.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian, following a prayer service at 9:30 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum. Father Victor Kemmer will officiate and burial will follow at the parish cemetery.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, July 2, at the funeral home, where a prayer vigil will be held at 8 p.m.
