Mary Virginia (Sis) Turner, 92, of Narrows, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2007 at Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg. She was born in Stephens City, Va. on February 12, 1915 and was the daughter of the late Edgar Allen Vincent and Sadie Vinessa Manuel Vincent. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Hubert (Chief) Turner; three brothers, Jack Vincent, Sam Vincent and Percy Vincent. She is survived by a niece and her husband, Joanne and Danny Blye of Winchester; several nieces and nephews; best friends, Jim and Sue Wheeler and family and Connie and Gene Shuff and family, all of Pembroke, Donna Oney and family, John Sheally and family, Sue Davis, all of Narrows, and John and Connie Carpenter and family of Galax. While she had no children or grandchildren of her own, she was loved for her compassion and care shown to so many others in the community. She will be deeply missed. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Narrows with the Rev. Don Stansell officiating.
