Edward Leroy Barber, 55, a self-employed contractor, died Sunday, August 12, 2007. The service will be at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday at Greater Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, with burial at Southside Cemetery. Strong & Jones Funeral Home (850-224-2139) is handling arrangements. He was a member of Greater Mount Pleasant M. B. Baptist Church, where he served on the Ushers board and sang in the choir. Survivors include his mother, LuBennie Barber Glenn of Tallahassee; five sons, Edward Barber II (and Keishia) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Shaunke Barber (and Liza), Terrance Barber (and Ayinke), Sheldon Barber (and Leisa) and Jabari Baber all of Tallahassee; two daughters, Cherice Grimes and Mya Barber; five grandsons, Dreshawn, Terrance, William, Christopher and Shaunke II; six brothers, Delmas (and Jean) Barber, Kenneth Barber, Harold Barber (and Wendy), Jerome Barber, Randolph Glenn all of Tallahassee, and Calvin Barber (and Karen) of Jacksonville; three sisters, Hazel Owens, Tina Glenn and Wanda Barber all of Tallahassee; two aunts, Catherine Nicholson and Maggie Holden; six godchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, relatives and friends.
