Funeral services for Gladys Givens, 81, who died Friday, June 20, 1997, will be held Tuesday at 1:00 PM in St. Marks United Methodist Church with Rev. Roger Moore officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 PM in George H. Hewell and Son Northside Funeral Home. Mrs. Givens was a native of Jacksonville, FL and a lifelong resident. She was a Mortgage representative with Stockton, Whatley and Davin for 38 years. She was also a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church where she was church secretary for many years. She was a member of the Soroptimist Club and the Road Runners Club. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, the late Lewis L. Givens, Sr. Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Kristina Bullock (Chuck); 3 brothers, Nelson, Brantley and Herbert Anders; 4 grandchildren, Kimberly Givens, Chris Bullock, Brandy Givens and Jenny Lyn Givens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: St. Marks United Methodist Church.
