Fady T. Abboud, of Sammamish, died on October 1, 2004 at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue. He was 43 years old.

Mr. Abboud was born on August 25, 1961 in Beirut, Lebanon. He was raised in Beirut, Lebanon and graduated from St. Joseph University in Beirut. He married Maya Sharara on May 28, 1987 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Fady was a leader in the Lebanese and International Red Cross during the war. He was a remarkable and courageous man through his heroic efforts in rescuing and saving American marines during the bombing of the marine base in Beirut, Lebanon in the early 1980's. The American Embassy commended him as reported in Time Magazine. He was instrumental in saving many lives before immigrating to the United States in 1985. He moved to Sammamish in March of 1999 and was an active member of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

Fady was the director of operations for five McDonald's Restaurants owned and operated by the Abboud family.

In addition to his wife survivors include two daughters Mia and Krysten Abboud and son Michael Abboud; mother Jeannette Abboud of Sammamish; and Brother Claude Abboud, of Sammamish.

A vigil service will be held 7:30 pm Monday, October 4, 2004 at Flintofts Issaquah Funeral Home, 540 E Sunset Way, Issaquah. A visitation will be held from 11 am Monday at the funeral home.

A funeral mass will be held 10 am Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1121 228th Ave SE, Sammamish. A committal service will follow at Upper Hillside Cemetery.
