William was born on a Sun and died on a Mon at age 56yrs 5mo 17dys.

Thomas Devasher & William G Wright are electrocuted at McConnell Ranch north of Colusa.
Elmer Danner has narrow escape.
At an early hour this morning, the people of Colusa were shocked to learn the sad news of the horrible accident which befell two of our well known citizens on the McConnell Ranch about six miles up the river on the east side. They were William G Wright and Tom Devasher, who, in company with Elmer Danner, were to put in a concrete flume for the Boedefeld Irrigation Canal.
It was about 7:45 a. m. when these men started to lower a pipe into a well to get water for their cement when the accident happened. They had cleaned the pipe and connecting the two pieces together, started to lower it into the well, but through carelessness, they neglected to notice the upper end of the pipe come in contact with the PG&E high voltage wires some thirty feet above, and as a result, received the full charge of 11,000 volts.
Elmer Danner was thrown ten feet away onto the ground, while the other two were unable to let go. Danner hurried back to where his partners were and tried to pull Mr Devasher away, but he received another shock that rendered him unconscious until help came from over the levee. Suddenly, the iron pipe broke loose at the top and both men fell to the ground dead. Artificial respiration was resorted to by kind helpers and a physician called but life was extinct before either had time to work.
Coroner McNary was notified and an inquest was held which resulted in a verdict of accidental death caused by coming in contact with live wires. The following witnesses testified at the inquest; Elmer Danner, A.P. Putman, L.V. Manford & Dorren Russell. The following men acted on the jury; W.G.Graham, L.L. Hicok, C.H. Manville, F. W. Farnsworth, A.J. Gauthier,L.R. Boedefeld, Tim Sullivan, Campbell, George Houchins, Robert Berkey & J.C. Ohrt. There were over thirty people from town out to the scene of the accident in automobiles and buggies.

He was married twice, his first wife's name being America Conner, by whom he had two children, Will & Walter. In 1894, he again married, this time to Miss Winona Ozella Justice of California. Miss Lily May is their daughter. He was 55 years old and is survived by his second wife and three children. He was a member of the local lodge of Odd Fellows.
Tom Devasher was born in Kentucky in 1864, being therefore 48 years of age at the time of his death, He came to California about twenty years ago and while here met his wife, then Miss Ida Cooper, who was working on the Colusa Sun Paper. They were married in 1904 and besides his wife is mourned by two children, Lola, age 7 and Harold, who will be 4 in October.
The dates for their funerals has not been set as yet. The Sun joins with the rest of the community in expressing heartfelt sympathy to the grief-stricken relatives of both.
