Professional Golfer. For more than five decades he played on the pro golf circuit and was one of the early Hispanic pioneers in the sport. He is best known for winning the Seniors' PGA Championship in 1978. At the 1991 PGA GTE Northwest Classic, he became the youngest player to shoot his age or lower in a Senior event. In 1995, at the Ameritech Senior Open, he shot 10-under 62, setting a pro record for lowest score in relation to age. He is the holder of several Georgia-Pacific Grand Champion records. Cause of death, cancer.
