Abraham Fonda (1744-1834), son of Abraham Janse Fonda and Elbertje Muller Van Alen, appears in many resources and was tracked from Claverack, NY to Baltimore, MD to Morganville, OH; with three marriages and eight children; and with service in the Revolutionary War as a Captain. He appears in the 1820 Census in Union Township, Belmont County, Ohio which is his last census record.
The DAR Lineage Book, record 161787 reads, "Abraham Fonda m. 2d 1788 Margaret Grimes (1753-1843). Abraham Fonda (1744-1834) commanded a company in the Albany County, New York militia. He was born in Claverack, N. Y.; died in Morganville, Ohio." The SAR Patriot Index, record P-163196, shows a person named Fundy who is buried in the Deerfield Cemetery in Morgan County, Ohio.
The photo attached is of a gravemarker which is a small footstone on which the initials M. F. are inscribed. There were several sandstone tombstones nearby that are no longer readable. The Revolutionary War flag and medal are for a "Mr. Fundy" which is placed each Memorial Day weekend by the Morgan County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society.
