Dr. Henry Hampton Halley graduated from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky, and the College of the Bible, now Lexington Theological Seminary. Ordained to the ministry of the Disciples of Christ in 1898, he authored Halley's Bible Handbook. He committed scriptures to memory and could quote in excess of 25 continuous hours' worth of Scripture without looking at a reference.
Doctor Halley was presented with the Chicago Bible Society's Gutenberg Award in 1961.
