Jesuit student.∼SAD DEATH OF YOUNG RELIGIOUS STUDENT
Benjamin Desmond, 12 years old, a student at the Jesuit college in Chicago for over three years, where he was preparing to enter the priesthood, died in St. Joseph's hospital here last night of pneumonia. The funeral will be held from the Immaculate Conception church to morrow morning at 9 o'clock and burial will take place In Santa Barbara cemetery. The body will be laid to rest In the lot of the Jesuit Fathers. Robert Desmond arrived here from Chicago last night, a few hours too late to see his brother alive. The train on which he was traveling was delayed. The young man whose death occurred so suddenly, became ill last March from overwork In the class room. He came to New Mexico and appeared to have recovered his health. Last Wednesday he went for a drive with a friend and caught cold. Pneumonia resulted. The pall bearers at the funeral to morrow will be Dr. Reldy, O. N. Marron, John Beaven, M. O. Laughlin, L. A. Tessier and William Keleher.
