Old Certificate Found in Wall
WATERTOWN — When alternations were being made this week in the rear of the Bon-Ton shop in public square a wedding certificate for Edwin Emery and Lucy Aiken, both of Mexico, who were married July 19, 1866, in Mexico, by Rev. H. S. Holmes, was found in a partition of the building. The certificate carried a fine steel plate engravings of the bridal party. Attendants at the wedding were John and Martha Aiken. Any person who may be relatives of the couple may have the certificate by calling on C. M. Daily, 304 State street.

(Edwin Emery was the son of the late Charles Emery and years ago lived on Pulaski Hill. He had a daughter, Mattie. Edwin was a brother of Brewster Emery, who was the father of Walter and Samuel Emery of Mexico.—Editor)
