Rose Vanosdol, 86, Windfall, died at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at Howard Regional Health system in Kokomo. She was born August 4, 1920, in Kokomo to Otis Jonathan & Jennie Mae (Bush) Oliver and had previously lived in Morgantown and Greentown. On April 16, 1938, she married Orville Vanosdol and he died October 8, 1993. She was a homemaker and worked in the Tri-Central cafeteria.
She was a member of First Salem Baptist Church, Windfall, and attended Windfall Church of the Brethren. Rose volunteered at Tipton County Shares and Miller's Merry Manor. She belonged to the Ladies Aid and the Homemaker Ec. Club.
Survivors include four sons and one daughter, Larry Vanosdol and wife Julia, Port Charlotte, Florida, Jennie Vanosdol Tolle and husband Michael, Windfall, Jerry Vanosdol and wife Doris, Windfall, Patrick Vanosdol, Windfall, and Kenneth Vanosdol and wife Linda, Windfall. She has 15 grandchildren, Angela Mannon, Jeff Vanosdol, Eric Vanosdol, Adam Vanosdol, Roseann Lord, Marita Bower, Linda Tolle Carter, Lisa Beally, Lori Vanosdol, Kevin Vanosdol, Jason Vanosdol, Kelli Vanosdol, Brad Vanosdol, Andrew Vanosdol and Kristen Vanosdol; 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; one sister, Pansy Shrader, Greentown.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Murvin Oliver, Benjamin Oliver, Robert Oliver and Wilbur Oliver, and two sisters, Daisy Stout and Irene Gilbert.
Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 2, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Salsbery presiding.. Burial will follow in Sharpsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday.
