Loney M. Baugher, 68, of 1732 W. Samantha, died at his home Sunday at 7 a.m. Death was due to a heart attack, according to the Wapello County medical examiner. He had been an employee of John Morrell & Co., for 26 years prior to his retirement in 1962. The son of William and Nancy Ray Baugher, he was born in Putnam County, Missouri, Dec. 26, 1897. He had been a resident of Ottumwa for 39years. He was married to Gladys Cox, Aug 8, 1925, in Centerville. She survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Rosa Hem of Ottumwa, Mrs. Faye Dennis and Mrs. Effie Songer, both of Davenport, and Mrs. Mary Simmons of Rock Island, Ill.; three sons, Manuel Baugher of Muscatine, Ralph Baugher of Davenport and one son at home, 14 grandchildren, one great-grandson, one brother, Virgil Baugher of Unionville, Mo., and one sister, Mrs. Lillie White, also of Unionville. Preceding him in death were an infant son, two brothers, and three sisters. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Chapel in charge of Capt. Eldon Rowland of the Davenport Salvation Army. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery in Monroe County. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
