Page 685-7 of Coweta Co. Chronicles. Bought a farm on Roscoe Rd. 4 miles north of Newnan. In 1859, it was the highest point of land between the creeks, named by the Indians "Big and Little Wahoo." He built his home facing the sunrise on a gentle slope. It was surrounded by rose gardens, groves, orchards, vineyards, old-time summer houses. Fields of grain, cotton, and mockingbirds singing. Of English descent. He was an eldest son. Picture is on page 685. He moved from Wilkes Co., Ga to Coweta in 1835 with his fathers family. He converted and joined the Methodist church at Broad River Camp Ground in Wilkes Co., Ga. at age 15. Classical Scholar and loved to learn. Joined Capt. Greer's Cavalry in 1836 to subdue the Seminole Indians. He volunteered a dangerous tree climbing mission. He married Emily Shaw in 1837 and Mary E. Culberson in 1840. He gave patriotic service to the Confederacy.
