THORNDALE – Graveside services for Edna Earle Byrer, 78, of Thorndale, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002 at Locklin Cemetery with Rev. Vicki Averitt officiating.
Mrs. Byrer died Monday, Feb. 18.
She was born Jan. 29, 1924 in Thorndale to Theodore Francis "Rat" and Eva (Burke) Locklin. On May 20, 1944, she married Edward Llewllyn Byrer. Mrs. Byrer was a member of Pleasant Retreat United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Byrer was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers, James Lee Locklin, Francis Burke Locklin and Samuel Dixon Locklin.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Godbee and husband Mell of Arlington; a son, Charles Byrer and wife Jeanette of Thorndale; four grandchildren, Dawn Lark Bly and husband Chris, Chris Byrer and wife Stacey, Michele Taylor and husband Tim, Jason Zorn, Tara and Ben Hemme; and great granddaughter, Emily Bly.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
