Locklin-Burke

At the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Gresham in this city about 10 o'clock Sunday morning, May 11, Mr. Theodore (Rat) Locklin and Miss Eva Burke were quietly united in marriege [sic], Elder W. S. Elliott officiating. The marriage was quite a surprise to the relatives, friends and acquaintances of the contracting parties as only a few close friends had been informed of the approaching even.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Locklin of the San Gabriel community and holds a position in the City Meat Market. The bride is a daughter of Rev. and Mrs. D. S. Burke formerly residents of this city, Rev. Burke having held the pastorate of the Thorndale Methodist church for two years. The bride was teacher in the Thorndale Public School during the past term.

Their many friends wish for them much happiness and success as they journey down life's highway.
