Mrs. Rebecca Akers, one of the oldest residents of Altoona, died at the home of her son, A. E. Akers, in that city, Saturday morning, December 2, of pneumonia. She was born in Bedford on March 13, 1831, and was a resident of Altoona since 1869. Besides her son, she is survived by two brothers and one sister, Samuel B. and Frank M. Amos and Mrs. Sarah J. Bagley, all of Bedford.
