Son of Benjamin Franklin Cooley and Susanna Lawson Cooley, husband of (1) Emily Lipp, and (2) Nevada L Johnson McCune. William Cooley died at Grim-Smith Memorial Hospital in Kirksville, MO.

Green Castle, Mo, Nov. 8 – William Cooley, 89, of Green Castle, native of Putnam County, died in a Kirksville hospital Wednesday morning at 9:20.
Funeral Services will be held at the Husted Funeral Home in Unionville Friday afternoon at one o'clock conducted by Elder Clyde Johnson, of Kirksville. Interment will be in the Lipp Cemetery.
Mr. Cooley was the son of Benjamin and Susan Cooley and was born in Putnam County on Aug 12, 1861. He was married to Miss Emily Lipp and nine children were born, two of whom preceded him in death. His wife also preceded him in death. Later he was married to Mrs. Nevada Johnson McCune. To this marriage six children were born.
Surviving besides his second wife are his children, Noah, of Pratt, Kan, Clyde, of Little Rock, Ark, Orville, of St. Joh, Mo., Carm, of Green Castle, earl, of Lebanon, Ohio, Bill and Mrs. F. O. Husted, both of Unionville, Glen, of Green Castle, Edison, of Kirksville, Mrs. Mary Nentwig, of Unionville, Mrs. Mildred Pickett, of Green Castle, Mrs. Maggie Guffey, of Davenport, Iowa, and Mrs. Edmund Moore, of Green Castle, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, two stepchildren, Orville McCune and Mrs. Dave Whiteside, both of Kirksville, and one brother, Timothy Cooley, of Pratt, Kan.
The body is at the Husted Funeral Home in Unionville.
