Lester Douglas Allen was born in Bright, WA, June 20, 1915, the eighth of nine children. He grew up and was educated in Wilson Creek, graduating from high school in 1933 and Wenatchee Business School the following year.
On July 4, 1935 he married Hazel I Webley and together they ranched in the Wilson Creek area for 15 years before moving to Rex Delrio area in 1950. Les was a avid horseman, cattleman and farmer. He was also an expert carpenter, having remolded many homes as well as making numerous small projects for his children and grandchildren.
He served as Master of the Rex Grange and was a member of the Ridge Riders. he participated in calf-roping events at the local rodeo and enjoyed bowling. He loved travel and traveled to Morocco, Australia, and Alaska and many places in the U.S.
